It looks like a full release of FL Studio for Mac could be getting closer. After several years in development, Image-Line has now released a beta of a native, 64-bit OS X edition. It’s not yet fully-featured -but it looks like it’s getting there. Image-Line has also dropped FL Studio 12.5.1 for PC. This builds on version 12.5 and offers several feature tweaks. Looking further into the future, the company has confirmed that the next full update of the DAW will be to FL Studio 20. Slated for release in 2018, this will mark 20 years of the software - hence the decision to skip versions 13 to 19.
Image-Line have shared the newest version of their FL Studio software which is now compatible for Mac users.Pitchfork has reported the news, along with updates to FL Studio 20 including support for time signatures, freezing for clips to free up CPU space, and having multiple 'arrangements' set up so users can work with different versions of a project at one time.
No doubt those of a superstitious nature will also be relieved. To find out out more about the 12.5.1 update and download the FL Studio Mac beta, head on over to the website.
Support is available for both VST and AU plugins, and projects are interchangeable with PC and Mac - transition between the two even takes into account third-party, as long as they're installed on both platforms. Other new features include support for different time signatures, in-situ audio rendering, Playlist support for multiple arrangements, new and updated plugins, and extended recording options. Existing FL Studio users will get the for free, thanks to Image-Lines's lifetime updates plan, while new customers can expect to pay $90 for the entry-level version.
